end tables

So I had a set of old end tables that I wanted to paint a bright color. I bought a sample of yellow paint at home depot that was paint and primer mixed it was less then 3 dollars. It ended up being more then enough to to two coats on my tables. I think they came out cute and add a nice pop of color to my living room.

Curtains

We have lived in our new place for about 7 months I have been slowly trying to decorate. Our living room window and patio door had went neglected for a very long time. I really wanted curtain with a bold flower print but I could not find anything in my price range. I decided I would make some. I used just simple quilting cotton and made a few panels and hung them with my shears. I think it came out okay they are not the best work but I do love the color it brings to my living room area.

Pajama time

I am loving the fact that I can easily make my little guy shorts or pants with less then a yard of fabric. The other day I was going though my fabric stash( which is looking bleek) and I found that I had enough flanel left from a blanket I made for the little guy to make some pajama shorts. I think they came out pretty cute and Sam likes them its a win win.

Plaid Shorts With Pockets

Using a few different tutorial on Made I used the flat front pattern, the pocket pattern and the basic pant pattern. In the end I came up with plaid shorts with pockets for Sammy. I think they came out pretty cute for a first try at shorts and pockets.

My model wasn't really into getting his picture taken

Engineer cap

A couple of weeks ago I came across this tutorial Here. My boy loves hats and will wear them very happily so I decided I had to give it a try. I think it came out pretty cute he loves to wear it and its great to keep the sun off his cute little face.

He has his own way of wearing his hat sometimes (ha ha)

Summer Pajamas

It seemed like we just had the heater going in the house and then bam its 90 degrees outside yuck. With the hot night Sam really needed some summer pajamas. I didn't want to go buy a bunch of new pajamas. So I came up with the idea of turning his warm pajamas into summer ones. All I did was cut the arms and legs off and sewed them and they came out pretty good and we saved money at the same time it was a win win.

I have only been sewing for a couple of years and I have found the best way to learn new things is to just get the pattern and try it. Recently I have been really into the idea of making myself a long summer dress so I bought the pattern Its so easy its simplicity 2638 and some cute flower fabric and this is how it turned out.

My Dress

Its pretty comfortable I think ill get some good use out of it this summer. Some new things I learned were putting zippers in and fitting clothing to my body.
